Buck, his young friends, and some very familiar guest stars including Laurie Berkner, Dan Zanes, Aaron Nigel Smith and Maria Muldaur, guide children and parents through a mix of songs including some of the most family-friendly classic rock 'n' roll tunes – done in a Zydeco style as only Buckwheat can – plus great original songs that entertain and get kids moving while they teach. The result is a rich tribute to this unique melting pot of American culture.
NEW RELEASE "Barnyard Dance: Jug Band Music for Kids"
Street Date: 10/12/2010
Press Materials:
Jug Band is a very hip music and perfect to add to your family's repertoire. Jug Band Music emerged in the 1920's. Before we had radio, CD and record players, i-pods etc. people played their own music to entertain themselves and each other, and didn't rely on a few mega stars to play it for them, pumped over an array of multi-media gadgets and formats. A lot more people enjoyed the fun of playing music in those days, before you could push a button and rely on others to make it for you.
The music on this album is organic, home-grown music played on homemade, homegrown instruments, such as washboards, washtubs, cowbells, spoons, jugs, pots & pans, and just about anything else you might find in the kitchen or lying around in the yard! Jug Band music is happy, snappy, lighthearted, humorous, goofy, wacky, high spirited music the whole family can enjoy! Why not grab a kazoo, harmonica, washboard, jug, some spoons, pots & pans, play and sing along with us, and make some Jug Band Music of your own!
Enjoy,
Maria

He was inspired to lovingly create a CD that expressed appreciation for the intimate time when listeners are crossing the magical threshold between being awake and asleep. Using the intimacy of a solo acoustic guitar, he creates a calm, peaceful space to drift away into the land of dreams. Paul arranged traditional lullabies and related songs from a variety of cultures and designed the CD to be a soothing, gentle, innocent, elegantly pure and simple recording to be enjoyed by children as well as adults.
